PAULA ARMAS  is a filmmaker and editor from the Canary Islands, currently based in Berlin. A graduate of The New School in New York City, her work is rooted in experimental cinema, surrealist imagery, and horror aesthetics.

Working across film, video, and photography, she explores themes of femininity, desire, memory, and transformation, often drawing from underground cinema, feminist art, and dream logic. Her practice balances narrative and abstraction, creating emotionally driven visual worlds that blur the boundaries between reality and fiction.

​A significant part of her personal work is created using analog formats, including 16mm, Super 8, VHS, and Hi8, reflecting an ongoing interest in materiality, texture, and the physical qualities of moving images.

Alongside filmmaking, Paula is deeply interested in art direction and collaborative creative development. She enjoys shaping visual concepts from their earliest stages and working closely with artists, musicians, designers, and creative teams to build distinctive visual identities and narratives.

​In addition to her independent projects, she has collaborated on editorial, fashion, music video, and commercial productions for clients including Vogue, Alexander Wang, Maybelline, Garage Magazine, and King Kong Magazine.
